Like an idiot I put 20W50 synthetic in my S4R last month. Now, the bike rarely starts when the ambient temp is below 40°F!!

My Bandit has 10W40 in it and it starts first crank at ambient temps below 20°F.

Is the heavier weight oil the problem, or is something else wrong?

The Monster runs fine, once its started.

The 20W-50 is certainly harder to churn cold than the 10W-40, but the bike should still start. Charge and load test battery, check charging system and resistance at all starting connections.
