I've managed break off the little cap on the oil temp sender that the wire clips on. I either weakened it, attempting to reinstall the wire wearing gloves when the engine was hot (I pulled over after noticing erratic temp readings) or I broke it when I removed the plug to access the pre oil filter screen during an oil change. It looked kind of fragile and I decided that I would leave it in the plug.
I just got back from a mad lunchtime run to the local dealer 120km. The sender costs almost $100CDN and it wasn

I had a similar problem with erratic temp readings and found the terminal that attaches to the sender was loose. A simple crimp tightened it up and it has been fine ever since. Has anyone else noticed this with any frequency? As far as fixing the sender, I don't know if any epoxy job would affect the sender adversely. Permatex Fast Cure two-part epoxy is great, and there's always everybody's favorite - JB Weld! Better than bailing wire. It says so right on the package!!! Good luck!
