OK I'm done with stripping the p.o.s. OEM screws that are used in the oil mesh cover plate for the S4Rs. Just did another oil change last weekend and I stripped two fasteners (for the second time). So I'm replacing them with 6mm x 1.0 x 18mm hex head screws - the same type of hardware that is used on the 999R and 999S. (On the 999s the hex screws are only 16mm so I had to order the 18mm screws from the MTS parts catalog.) Anyway, will need to drill the old screws out when I change the oil the next time but the new hex head hardware should arrive within a week or two from BikeBandit. Anyone else done this or am I the only one whose having this problem? Does anyone have a better solution or a way to not strip the OEM heads?
