The stock tire on my S2R was a 120/70 so it should be fine. A 70 is taller than a 60 by 10% of 120mm. So, if the 2003 800 came stock with the 120/60, you might have a clearance problem with the front fender. Measure the distance from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender, if it's more than 12mm, you should be fine...

I went from a 60 profile front to a 70 on my M900. No problems at all. One reason I did this is to help balance some suspension modifications I did up front. A taller front tire can counteract (somewhat) dropped triples. Taller tires also help a bit with pot-hole induced bent rims. A taller tire alone should also make the bike turn *slightly* slower and make it more stable (ie- less twitchy).

one thing you'll notice...

if you roll over gravel, you may pick some up and hear a terrible SCRAPE as it pulls through your fender. No big deal, but it can be freaky.
