I applaud the move back to the SSS. They never should have left it, imho. I'm curious to hear the stats on weight and power.

So many haters... [laugh]

I'd like to see it in the flesh - so to speak. The 999 photographs horribly IMHO but redeems itself exceptionally well in person. I'm optimistic...

That swing arm looks THICK!! [clap]

Nice pics BTW - thanks.

The great cycle (no pun intended) of design. The Japanese steal the look of the 916, so when Ducati tries to go back a bit it ends up looking Japanese.

On the flip side, they managed to give it a really nice, narrow profile. Something you just can't do with an inline 4.

I'll wait until I can see it in the flesh before I pass final judgement.

don't know about weight, but was advised that with termi slip-ons and ecu (ducati performance options) that the production motor bike made 173 RWHP on factory dyno.

173RWHP is enough to make me like it.

Until I have to race against it. :(

I'd recommend something with about half the hp. Like my slightly used 749.

Sarcasm or no... Sounds right to me. 10% more displacement... ~10% more power.

The 999R with Termi system gets ~150 RWHP.

Tigre... how much you asking for your slightly used bike... I really have been in the market for a quasi beater track bike... I haven't seen your bike so how much beater is it..

oh yeah.. I was joking about the 1098...

Johnc, you appear to have transposed some numbers. I'm sure you meant to type 137 hp. Right?

if my peeps at the factory are correct, then the 173 RWP number is indeed correct. i asked the same question when they advised me of this number.

also, as with most ducatis, photos don't do the bike justice. all the folks who have seen it in the flesh advise it is stunning.

I better HATE this thing when it comes out... coz' I'll have to start looking for a loan and I despise bike payments. >:D
