Hello:

We are about to purchase our first Ducati. I want to introduce myself to the group. For the most part my wife will be the main rider, but I certainly hope to sneak in a few rides. We live just outside Boulder, CO and even though it is winter, the weather cooperates often enough so we can ride pretty much year round. We look forward to reading and hopefully contributing to the list.

She has been riding a 1996 Kawasaki zx-6e, but had been looking for replacement bike for close to a year. Until this past weekend she was deciding between the BMW 650, and the Guzzi Breva, then she saw the Monster 800ies this past weekend. After test riding it, she decided on the Monster. She ordered a few options which will come in some time this week. Once they they are installed, we will head back to the dealership to close the purchase. She is very excited about the soon to be new addition.

She would also like to purchase a tank bra for the bike. The shop did not have them available, and my searches for them at the Second Look web site were not successful. Can anybody in the group recommend a good quality bra for the bike? Preferably one which does not involve the use of magnets or adhesive. Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Coqui.

Hello:

It is a tank cover held in place by elastic cord, magnets, or adhesive. Its' main function is to prevent the paint in the gas tank from being scratched by belt buckles or other abrassive materials worn by the rider.

Coqui--- Welcome to Monsterville--I live in Boulder. My GF and I have been riding every weekend so far--where have you been riding ? My favorite canyons have been plauged by lots of gravel, so we've been heading North towards Carter Lake--some nice clear twisties out there. Where outside of Boulder do you live ?
