New Ducati Dealer in Indy....

I checked on Ducati.com but didn't see anything listed. I am going up there this weekend and figured while I was there I would check it out, maybe buy a couple of t-shirts or something. If not a dealer anywhere else cool to check out.

Re: Are there any Ducati dealers around Indy.

I'm in northwest Indiana and the closest dealers for me are Lifecycle [thumbsup] [thumbsup] in Kalamazoo, MI and some dealers in Chicago that I have never checked out.... either way, they are hours and hours away from Indy. Maybe one of the Ohio dealers would be the closest, but still quite a drive.
Re: Are there any Ducati dealers around Indy.

Not that I know of. I live on the southeast side of Indy. I bought my Monster and have it serviced in Cincinnati.
Re: Are there any Ducati dealers around Indy.

Right no Duc dealers in Indiana. Lyfecycle in Kalamazzo MI has been real good to me so far.
Re: Are there any Ducati dealers around Indy.

Being a former Chicago native, I still bring my Ducs to MCC in Villa Park. Commonwealth Cycle in Louisville might be closer to me down here in Bloomington, though.
Re: Are there any Ducati dealers around Indy.

Commonwealth is the business - best dealer I've ever worked/rode with. Plus they now have KTM so all of my current bikes are covered. Well besides my YZ250F dirt bike, but it doesn't really need anything.
Re: Are there any Ducati dealers around Indy.

I heard a rumor that by the end of 2007 there will be a dealer in Indy.
I heard a little rumor that there is going to be a new Ducati dealer on the North Side of Indy. I'll just say that the owner is a very very good mechanic, racer and business man. They are shopping for a building right now.

That's all I can say for the moment...
Good News!

But as a Monster owner that lives in Indianapolis who has a bike in need of a little service before the warm weather arrives, should I go ahead and take it down to Cincy or wait?
They won't be open for quite a while - at least 6 months. They are currently looking for a building.

If I were you I'd take my bike to Commonwealth Ducati in Louisville.
I have considered taking it to Commonwealth. I wasn't too happy that JD Performance in Cincy wouldn't schedule an appointment for my 600 mile service. I figured since I bought the bike there and was driving 100 miles to get the bike serviced there, they could have worked with me a little better. I told them I would have the bike there whenever they could squeeze it in. But I still ended up spending the entire day waiting on them to get the bike done. Dropped it off at 9am and they didn't even start on it until after 1pm.

Is Commonwealth where you get your bike serviced? Good experiences dealing with them?
I service my own bike, but I've had them do some motor work in the past. Commonwealth is an amazing shop though. I'm quite good friends with them as we do a lot of riding together on the track, street, and dirt. Their service is top notch and you couldn't meet a better group of people. They are all true motorcycle enthusiasts!

They are easily the best dealership I've ever dealt with. They will schedule your service at your convenience. The other day I was in there and a customer brought his sport 1000 in for the 600 and they were waiting on him. They did the service and he rode away with no wait.

+1 on Commonwealth. I live a couple of miles from them (yes it IS nice). They've always done me pretty well. Right before my 600m service, I got a nail in the rear tire. Had them order a new one. Called to confirm the day beofre I took it in. They'd not gotten the tire ordered, so they shipped it next day air w/ no charge to me.

They had a mechanic change about 3-4 months ago. I haven't had a service done since he got there, but I'm actually headed over there right now to schd my 12k service.

They're also selling/serviceing KTM now. I hear they have an Adventure and a Super Duke in the showroom now. Gotta go see the new stuff. ;D
I talked to Commonwealth to schd my 12k earlier today. W/ the service training for the 1098, they are a little behind. Their service is about 1 1/2 weeks out right now. That's NOT bring it in and be w/o the bike for that time. That's that they are scheduling for a day 1 1/2 weeks from now. And Greg (service manager) was apologizing to me for them being that behind.

So if you think about bringing it down to them, plan ahead. I'd do it sooner than later too.... good weather staring to turn up here means they will start having more bikes needing serviced befroe true spring.
What time where you there today? I was in from about 1pm until sometime after close. I may have seen you there! Do you ride dirt bikes? Ed, Rick, me, and a bunch of others are going to S-Tree tomorrow to ride. If you want to go let me know and I'll tell you the plans. Greg is the dirt master, but as you mentioned with the 1098 training - he left this evening since he has to be there monday-friday. Ed, Bill, Dave, etc... are going down for the training next week and the week after.
I was in about 11:30. I didn't stay long since the new 1098 arrival was still in the crate. :'( I missed the last couple they had in. So I talked to Greg, looked at the KTMs and Ducs and left.

Thanks for the offer. Never ridden dirt except a mtn bike.
OK, you guys convinced me. I called Commonwealth last week to set up an appointment. I will be there this Thursday bright and early to drop off my bike.

Hey man,
If you are there around lunch time, I will be in to pick my bike up following the 600 (780) mile service (weather permitting). Perhaps lunch?
Or call my cell: Steve 502-418-5459.
Due to a problem at work, I had to reschedule my appointment. Ill be taking my bike in next Thursday morning. Hopefully it wont take them too long to fix my little oil leak, but I'm going to assume I'll have to leave it for a couple of days.

There is or will be quite soon. Matt Carr, formerly of Section8Superbike near Detroit, is opening a dealership on the north side of Indianapolis, I believe in the Carmel or Zionsville area.

Matt is a great guy, check it out. [thumbsup]
