I pulled my clutch to peices last night for the first time, mainly just to give it a clean, but also to make sure everything is ok. I love dry clutches!

The problem is, I think most of my "plates" need replacing. The Haynes manual says they should be no thinner than 2.8 mm, and that's what I measure most of them at. The disc material (like breakpads) is almost flush with the metal with a few.

So, a couple of questions:
- am I correct in thinking I need to replace the plates?
- can I replace some, or is it best to replace all?
- how much are the plates gonna cost?
- Do I need to replace the metal spacers?

Cheers ;D

-yep, sounds like their knackered.
-you have to change them all
-not sure on the price, I think it'll be about 2 or 300$ a set
-if your talking about the disks between the each friction plate.. yes you do, they come with the set.

you may also want to check the thrust bearing, just run it around with your fingers and see if it feels notchy. if it is replace it. (for the price and effort it may be worh replacing anyhow)

Mate, you can't buy the fibre plates without the steel ones.

Just on 13,000. I've only had it for 3,000, though.

Big-up to Frasers in Dianelle. It just so happed that they had 15% off everything on the weekend, so I got my clutch pack and an oil filter for under $300. It was manic, but the guys there were still really helpful. They had tonnes of stuff out on the tables that they were trying to get rid of.

I put the clutch pack in on the weekend. It only took me three attempts to get it right :p

It feels good now!
