Right,

has anyone swapped out the handle bars on their Monster? I have a new M1000 and I'm thinking just a little bit more upright and maybe a tiny bit wider would give me better leverage/control as well as avoiding the "drop it in the driveway, ding the tank" effect.

How high/wide would you have to go to avoid that tank ding problem?

Thanks,

Tom

Standard bar has a 1.5 inch rise. I have 3 inch rise on my monster, wife has 5 inch rise on hers. I roll them slightly forward and adjust the sterring lock screws in. This doubles the distance between the switches and tank. I have a 99 900, her 02 620 had to rerun fast idle cable and put extended brake and clutch cables. I also cut an inch off each end of bars for lane splitting.
You can put a 3.5 inch rise without changing hoses. Good Luck.
