I swear I saw someone wearing one of those in SF - somewhere around Scuderia - about a month ago! It looked identical. Maybe he got his hands on a prototype. I thought it was one of the cooler things I had seen in a while and was left wondering where I could find such a helmet. Very hooligan looking and It looked great for riding around town, when you never know when you'll be riding west at 6:30pm. I think I'm gonna have to put an order in for one of those...

I definitely wouldn't want to use it at speed though, as the article mentions.

wow... what a steal for only...

$454.95 for White and Black
$464.95 for Aluminum Silver and Aluminum Grey
$537.95 for the Storm design.

does the arai fitting rep at least give you a reach around during the fitting? :-*

i remember when a plain old solid quantum could be got for $320 shipped to my door. [smiley=dissappointed.gif]

Arai rep sayz - "It replaces at least two helmets" - no reach around.

No more need for helmets for off road / on road / trials / go kart / scooter.

:p

Good idea I guess - but I don't have the need for it. It is the SUV of helmets. Less than 1% of people actually need them for the intended purpose - but there is a huge market.

it may indeed replace two helmets, or three, or four... you could buy two off road lids and a decent on road lid at that price.

it may seem like a great idea but i'd rather keep the two seperate; don't need a swiss army knife for a helmet that's going to get knocked around in the bush and sure as hell don't like the idea of paying $500 for one either.

imo it's about as useful as no internet sales... and points out once again the folks at arai are living a dream.

LOL, had me laughing my a** off there Mark!

I swear I remember Beiffe trying to market a helmet like this back in 1989-1990ish. About the same time BMW did some serious Paris-Dakar marketing.
