Guys and girls,
I am trying to diagnose a problem with a 2001 M900 (fuel injected) that a friend has. REALLY it is a friend, not me, because I now have a Sport Classic.
Anyway, key on, the fuel pump buzzes, it starts, idles and revs--on a front wheel chock holding the bike level.
As soon as you roll the bike off the chock (which changes the angle of attack) or lean it to either side, it dies. If you then try to start it again it may fire up when level and then die or it will not fire up or crank at all when leaned.
The bike was just serviced and they claim to have installed a new fuel filter.
I have been inside the tank on my old monster and know that there are all kinds of small hoses and clamps because I have replaced my own fuel filter and removed everything for painting. Could something be hamfisted by the service tech?
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Is it stalling when you change the angle vertically? or when you change the direction of the front wheel?
What I was doing was straddling the bike with feet flat and leaning the bike left and right without changing the steering angle.
thanks
