so i just picked up a Monster 900 and she needs a little TLC before the start of next season. specifically new sprckets and a chain. i figured that before i go and buy one i'd ask if anybody in the area has a chain breaker/riveting tool that i could borrow for a weekend.

can anybody help me out??

not yet, but i'm due for a new chain tool and new safety wire pliers, i'll let you know if i pick them up this week.
I have the chain tool, but i will be out of town starting on thurs.
i was prob going to do a "maint/tech" day where everyone brings over their bikes and we do what needs to be done to them.
that's cool. i haven't even ordered my parts yet. i wanted to see if anyone in the area would let me borrow the tool otherwise i was going to order one with my parts. looks like i should be able to get by without purchasing the tool myself this time.

i'm going to order my parts then. KoN, when were you thinking about doing the tech day, it's not getting any warmer...
the garage is heated ;D

we just need to move some couches around.

i was thinking of 11-11 during the day actually.

works for me! [thumbsup]

gotta get the shim kit and feelers and i think i'm all set.
do i need new gaskets or seals for the valve covers? it seems like i should, but i haven't seen anything about them.
probably a good idea and for 9$ it's hard to say no.

send me a PM with your address and cross your fingers for good weather (or access to a truck)!

ohh...derf.... ::)

i gotta go see if the bar is open in this airport yet.
I would get new VC gaskets they can usually be reused but sometimes they'll brake when you take them off, and your SOL.

try to pay off debt.

and buy beer

and spend too much when i go on trips.
I still need to get my greasy hands on a chain tool sooner than later.
my car wants the garage back!
I'm not that cheap, though some may argue otherwise... ::)

Getting the old chain off and the new one to length isn't the problem. I'll just grab the Dremel...

It's pressing the new rivet master link that I'd rather use the proper tool for (as opposed to the vice grips method)
