I'd like to take a weekend trip from LA to SF one of these weekends and I'd like to find a place to stay.

Is there a good motorcycle-friendly hotel/motel in a safe neighborhood in/near San Francisco (meaning when I park my bike in the parking lot, there will be a better-than-99% chance that my bike will still be there the next morning) ?

Thanks.

Holiday Inn downtown SF is pretty secure.

[laugh] Some of 'em have track bikes from the wrong side of the tracks. [laugh]

Seriously, they're good people.

Make sure you hit Zeitgeist while you're there. [thumbsup]

late reply - sorry if it's too late... :(

At the LaDucati 05 ride, I stayed up in SF at the Travelodge near Zeitgeist. Probably a 5 minute walk (semi sober) to the Zeit from the motel. Place was clean and parking wasn't too expensive (10/12 bucks?) for the night there. From what I remember it was in the high 50s low 60 dollar range (something like that).

email me offline if you'd like me to search and give you the exact address...

good luck in SF.

Thanks for the info. I will try that the next time I go to SF.

I went to SF last Friday and returned Sunday afternoon.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn at 1500 Van Ness. Gated garage. They charged me $20 per day to park my bike even though my bike was in the garage less than a total of 20 hours over a 3-day period. All in all not bad.

I met up with a few monster riders in SF. Had a beautiful run through Napa valley.
