well, I'm sure the hypermotard isn't exactly a flyweight or anything... but it's still a cool concept [thumbsup]

I think it'd be too heavy for a true motard. But, I like the idea. There's a guy here (and a few others I've seen on the DML) who have grip guards for winter riding.
Scott is right...for true motarding...it is a bit heavy.... it would give too much front end push when loading it up to downshift or rear brake for backing it in as it were....but I am the one that Scott is refferrring to with handguards and whatnot...I have a set of Pro-Taper bars with Moose Racing handguard frames and UFO atv plastic deflectors....also something to consider when you put a high front fender on the bike is with the USD forks...you'll leave the stantions that compress into the fork tubes exposed to debris and whatnot which could lead to nicks and pitting and various other things which would lead to leaking seals and various other problems down the line...so I'd personally reconsider that...but if you are just going for looks...that's another story....as far as finding parts...you seem familiar with Acerbis...so that's a good start....I'd also look at http://www.maier-mfg.com/index.php for more universal stuff to be used in place...

I'm working on one right now, but I want to fit true offroad suspension & am having difficulty creating something that you don't need a step ladder to mount. I figure I can hit in the 300-340# range.

i was not going to actually use this as a motard racer.

just going for the look.

any ideas to finish the look on the rest of the bike?

i'm already working on a 2-1 high pipe.

any ideas for a moto inspired tail?
