Hi Everyone,
I am a new member here but some of you may know me...I am the one selling the clonable Ducati Keys on Ebay as pfrancis365. I appreciate everyone's business and feedback, but what I am trying to do is figure a way to reset the ECU and cluster in case people lose all their keys. I don't have a whole lot of info on the procedure regarding the issues of the lost key but the dealer here has said that if all keys (or red key, according to them) are lost the customer must replace 1.) the lock set 2.) the ECU 3.) The instrument cluster, is this correct?...I have heard also that there are aftermarket performance ECM's that you can use to ignore the immobilizer circuit, so if you lose keys can you just replace the ECU with one of these units and then start the bike with a metal key? This sounds possible as Hondata has done this for Acura RSX ECU's. Finally does anyone know if the circuit boards in the immobilzer ECU and instrument cluster have the chips exposed? The reason I ask is that I looked at a Vespa immobilzer ECU (similar system) that was totally sealed and that would make the job much harder. I understand if you don't want to answer any of these questions considering I am new here, I just want to get an idea if putting time and efffort into figuring a way to try to reset these is worth it.
Thanks, Brooks
