I hope this topic hasn't allready been exhausted, but anyone know of any movies that have a Monster in them ? I saw "Dont Say a Word" this weekend (not a good movie IMHO) and there were a few scenes where one of the bad guys was riding a red Monster--even had a cheesy lowside. Anyone know which Monster that was ?

I could be wrong, the picture was kind of fuzzy, but in 28 Days Later, when the guy is walking around London in the beginning of the movie, I think that there is an out of focus Monster in the background of one shot, but maybe not.

Steven Seagal puts some damage to a red one in Exit Wounds, and the yellow AOHell guy backs it in w/ a hottie on the p-pad in their 'action' TV ad ...

You are correct... I actually froze the scene on my computer and zoomed in and it is definately a Monster...

"Harleys are for fat old men who want to cover over each of life's disappointments with a chrome accessory"

Dude that is some funny ish...

I was at a cycle shop that sells Harleys and the accessory list was 1000 pages long. An older couple was deciding on length of the leather fringe they wanted on the seat. The conversation was pretty freaking funny, I wanted to lean over and say...."You're buying a motorcycle not a couch, forget the fringe lenght"

I don't remember the name of the movie but it stars Michael Douglas and Britany Murphy. It's only a few years old. There's a monster that follows Douglas around NY spying on him. There's also one in Rollerball(remake).

OK, I've owned my Ducati for a total of 1 day now so maybe I'm not qualified to butt in here; or maybe I'm a fat old man, but......

It seems to me that many of us would be offended by someone who said Ducatis are just for guys whose penis is too small. Those kind of generalizations don't do any of us any good.

All blondes are stupid. All fat people are jovial. etc. etc.
Some Harleys are pretty damned nice bikes. And they are 2 wheeled rides, that should count for something. I'd guess that a fair number of the people on this board who are over 20 years old have owned or ridden a Harley, Indian, Victory, Kawi, Honda...etc. I'd also bet that several of us on here are what you might call old or fat.

I don't like the same things other people like, but that doesn't make them stupid or only for old fat guys.

I don't like the same things everyone else does, but that doesn't those people inferior to me.

Just my newbie 2 cents worth.

I'm old and not that it matters but I'm not fat. While generalizations have exceptions, sometimes a lot of exceptions, I'll bet that overall there is a distinct difference(lifestyle, appearance, attitude) between Ducati owners and Harley owners. This is certainly true at least from what I see. The only Harley owner I know is one of my best friends, and he's only 25. I tried to talk him out of it though :)

As for carbon fiber vs chrome ??? No comparison, CF is way cooler ;)

Neither product *really* enhances the performance of a bike... it's just jewelry.

Personally, I find both materials offensive to my sense of style.
I've been on a stripped bike look. I was going to get a windscreen and a bellypan but I decided I preferred a really really nekid monster.

BUT.. CF does improve performance. Plastic is heavier than CF and chrome is heavier than both. Any weight loss is improved performance even if it is not noticable on the dyno.

I used to be into bicycles... mountain bikes and road bikes both, so I'm well aware of the gram-shaving wars.

I think the weight saving of CF is pretty much just the justification people use... the REAL reason they get it is for the look (not that there's anything wrong with that).
