Nah, if I was talking about putting EtOH in your gas tank, I would have put the poll in "Tech"!

OK I'm guilty.

This is a [email protected] post intended only to bring the poll back up near the top.

I think we need some more responses!

Otherwise known as a ...bump. Don't feel bad, some threads need a bump then get going good again. As long as you don't post any stupid [email protected]# stuff like what is your favorite color, how old are you, what body parts do you like, you should never feel guilty.
damn Scott! you stole my ideas for the next poll! my favorite color is blue, I am 29 and my favorite body part on me would be my navel, on others, I would have to say ankles. I cant do cankles- those are nasty!

Nah, no drinking and driving at all for me, not after I wrecked my cage last October. I came away from that smelling like a rose (legally, anyway), but it was a harsh lesson which I have no intention of repeating. If I'm doing the no drinky-no drivey thing in my GTI, there's *no way* I'm climbing aboard the Monster.

Guess I'll tell my story...

19 years old, new CR125 Honda (1976 motocross model), no helment, t-shirt, jeans, tennis shoes. Add to that 6 plus beers and a few other illegal substances.

Set down a third gear wheelie on the wrong side of the road leading into a curve. Head-on into a 1975 pinto station wagon. Bike went under the front of the car, bike tank (aluminum on that model) ruptured, bike caught fire and burned along with the car. The people in the car were OK.

I had some stiches in my knee, and some serious road rash. (basicly unhurt) Apparently I stood up and went over the top of the car.

I figued that was my lucky break. I haven't operated any motor vehicle since if drinking. I am 46 now.

A PINTO!?

I guess if you'd gone under the BACK of it, you'd have made an even bigger boom!

You were extremely fortunate. I've had my share of good breaks, not all of which involved imapirement; I was stupid enough in my youth to bang up cars sober :-/

But, I'm with you. When I took to bikes I decided to keep completely straight when operating them. I have since (twice) had a single beer when I knew I was going to spend at least a couple of hours hanging out. That's practice remains a rare exception. I'm too aware of the "slippery slope." You make an exception in one case and the discipline can erode quickly.
