I thought it might be interesting to hear your history with Monsters.
What prompted you to buy your first one, how you liked it, how long you kept it, why you sold it, etc.
In my case I had a '95 Ducati 900SS that needed some parts. My dealer's Ducati rep struggled to provide them, ordering some from Italy, and sadly, some were back-ordered. I made do with used parts but wasn't happy that the factory was no longer supporting older bikes. The Ducati rep actually told me I should buy a new bike.
I bought a S2R100 and loved it. Started doing track days on it, then got really into track days. Decided it wasn't fast enough for me. Bought a Honda Superhawk VTR1000, and over the course of a couple seasons, turned it into a track monster.
I stripped out over 30 lbs. of exhaust, lights, wires, etc. Upgraded the rear shock, replaced the front end with one from a CBR600, did some motor mods too.
Later sold the Honda to a friend when I bought an Aprilia RSV 1000, which a great bike on the road and the track.
A few years later the Monster itch got me again, and I ended up with an 1100 EVO. Last and strongest of the 2V desmo head, air cooled, trellis framed Monsters. Light and fun, torquey and quick, reasonably comfortable, this one is I think, a keeper.
