I have run into a bit of an issue with my 2014 Monster 696 ABS.

I changed the oil and removed the stock fender because of a broken turn signal. Fixed the fender, but broke it again while trying to put it back on.
I ended up going with a fender eliminator, but after having completed everything the engine light is now on and I get a "Light Error" message.

When the bike is running the headlight and license plate lights don't come on. I can still flick the high-beam.
With the parking lights on, the headlight and the license plate light both come on.
Brake light and turn signals all work fine.
I also checked the connector behind the headlight to see if it was burnt but it looked good.

Any ideas what might be happening?

I'm sure you've crossed a wire somewhere. My headlight connector was mislabeled so try switching connections until it works
