I have a 2002 Monster 620sie and the tank is leaking, we have also spotted that there is fuel leaking on the fuel sender too. I can seem to find any second hand tanks, but there seems to be plenty of plastic ones about. The only thing I can find that is different is the fuel filter. So my question is, can you swap the original metal tank with a plastic one, and is there anything difficult in doing so? Thanks in advance

I don';t know, but are you aware some of the plastic ones have issues with swelling?

Hey Ashjoli
You have to make sure to stay away from using fuel that has ethanol.
If you are buying a used tank that is a question for you to put to the seller.
Did they have any issue with a swollen tank.
If you can go & see it before purchase that would be great as well.
On a modern new tank, I would check with the manufacturer to make sure it is resistant to ethanol.

The Nut on the fuel sender unit was plastic from memory and was prone to cracking and leaking. Metal, or alloy, replacement nuts were available.
I would check that first, similar to this.
