I've been curious about top speed my Monster capable. So I rode to the nearest toll road to check it.

I'm not good at technical issues, but it seems to me that it should run faster if there is RPMs left before it reaches limiter.

Feels like 6 gear does nothing.
What is the top speed for your bike?

6th gear on most bikes is too tall and you can't reach the theoretical limit with it. The monster 1200 is geared really long.

You couldn't reach the limiter because you don't have enough horsepower to overcome the drag at that speed.

The higher kph numbers are about 165 mph. Possibly optimistic?
Think I've had mine to indicated 125ish. Mph, so about 200 Kph.
It had more, the wind blast was pretty intense. I felt that was fast enough.
There was nothing to prove.

I've seen 255kph. Had to back off as I was approaching cars. It was still pulling hard at speed too

I've seen 145mph and there was (as evident) more to give. I reached that speed, which was the max, on my old Honda 919 and there seemed to be a consensus the gauge didn't show "true" speed and was likely less than that. Not sure how accurate the speedometers are on these bikes at that speed?
