Hi Guys

I have a 2014 m1200. The bike has about 20,000 miles on it. I had its Desmo service done at approx 18,500 miles during last winter. Valves, new belts, new battery etc.

Ever since the service, I've always felt the bike is a bit down on power. A bit like something is restricting it slightly. It's very subtle in that it can still achieve the same speeds as before, but i'm aware of having to work it harder to get the same power response.

Anyone got any ideas on where to start trouble shooting before I do some investigating? I don't know much about the desmo service itself. Is there anything from this that would cause a power loss?

Cheers

Frankly I wouldn't be too concerned...is it smoother on the low end?...could be that the index mark moved and the tech adjusted the timing slightly biased....the other is that the valves themselves were adjusted on the far end of the limit and accomplished the same thing.

You can ask for the values that the valves were set at and have them double check the timing as well.

Speaking from an m821 if your openers are set at .13mm you will have shite low end performance (chugs until 4200 RPM) and the motor will be loud....I've found .19mm allows you to troll around between 3-4k RPM without hesitation sometimes lower

Each mark is 1° adv/ret
