I do not have an IPOD but I do use a el cheapy Mp3 player and carry it in my magnetic tank back just letting the wires run out of the zipper. No problems whatsoever... but as stated above... s2r 1000 has a plastic tank.

It depends on what version of iPod you have. There are some that run off a magnetic hard drive (like the 60GB version) and some that run off memory cards (internal and non removable, like the Nano).

Nano is best for your conditions, as it will not have EM (electro-magnetic) issues or vibration issues (sometimes a hard jolt will cause magnetic drives to skip).

Me personally, I wouldn't recommend riding and listening at the same time...

i've done some superslab time with my ipod and a magnetic map bag... the magnet part was substantial enough to hold a HUGE tank bag, and was removable for use as a clear map pocket. This is where I had the iPod, literally right on top of a reasonably powerful iron ferrite magnet.

I had absolutely no problems with it.

The iPod is a 5th generation 30g Video iPod
