M796 first motorcycle purchase?
Hey guys before I even continue I am aware that this post has been made quite a few times.....that being said after reading most of the post(I'm pretty sure all of them) I do not feel that any of them fit my particular situation. I joined this forum roughly 6 months ago with the intent on buying a 796 after my MSF course here in Florida. Due to changes in location and schooling, job, etc i had to postpone the purchase. I will not be racing it; I have no intent on racing ever. My purpose for deciding to get my cert in the first place is for commute around my college town (law school) and occassionally weekend rides. My riding experience is on a 2009 yzf-r6 which my girlfriend owned that I rode on the weekends in the outlying neighborhoods of Loxahatchee (near Moroso in West Palm). This was after i passed my MSF class. I have also ridden an 2004 R6s which a friend of mine owned for a while. I have purchased all my gear: Dainese (jacket--avro textile, back protector--honestly don't know the exact one its compatible with the avro) helmet(Shoei RF-1100) gloves(Dainese). Gear was purchased with the idea that the bike was going to be purchased shortly after.
My situation is this with a 6 month gap, is the 796 still an ideal bike? Thank you in advance for the assistance.
Also I did not see this section until just now sorry for the post in the 796 forums
