Also, what are the best frame sliders? Do people keep them on their bikes permanently or only on the track?

Don't know about the book.

Most of the members that have lowsided, did it on the road, not the track. No gravel, sand, or little old ladies on the track!

I have Cycle Cats on my M1000, and leave them on all the time.
