My girlfriend is thinking about getting a 2003 620Ie in yellow and the bike is a tad tall for her. We were thinking about doing a seat mod or pulling out the dog bone in the rear suspension and have another dog bone made out of billit that is an inch and a half shorter to lower the bike down a bit. Has anyone on here done any of these mods?

sadly i do not own a monster yet but i spend plenty of time drooling over the pictures and it seems to me that you could adjust the ride height by a small amount adjusting that coil over spring for the rear fork

FBF lowered mine by 2" just by adjusting the suspension.

Ok the New Matt Silver 620ie is in my garage. The girlfriend will not get on it yet. So how did you get the bike to drop 2 inches with out a kit?

My dealer (Moto Milano in Windham, ME) has a lowered 620 in his showroom. Steph, my girlfriend, is 5'2" and can straddle it while having both feet flat on the ground.

We were told that the forks had been raised and that the tierod had been changed-out. Nicely done. Nice enough for Steph to want to ditch her 1200 Sporty and buy a Monster. (Actually, she's considering a lowered 800. That involves raising the forks, changing-out the tierod and replacing the stock seat with one from a 620...)

If I'm not mistaken, MRRW60 is referring to my bike.

The dealership did the TPO link installation for about $80.

The mechanic at the dealership was nice enough to modify (cut and then weld) the kick stand on his own time at no charge - he said it took him 5-10 minutes to do it.

The total drop is a little over 2 inches and it's very obvious that it's been lowered.
