My low fuel light isn't working. It doesn't seem to be the light bulb since i changed it around with the "running" light.

Does anyone know how to fix that?
FYI, 97 M900 runs out of fuel after 130 miles!

Does it completely run out at 130?
On my '02 630 the light comes on around 150. I guess that if you are keeping track of the trip miles you dont really need a fuel light. Thats just me being too lazy to d!ck around with it.

I run out at about 135 miles

That's a mix of highway and mountain riding. I'm not sure what I would get if I were to do either or.

Could be a failed sender, or the wiring plugs have gone bad or gotten corroded or dirty.

Try doing a little tune-up on the wiring plugs first.

tonyj, your injected 620 is definitely more thrifty than a carbed 900, so fuel light on at 150 is about right. My S4 light comes on at about 120.

The low fuel light works correctly on my 97 M900. It comes on somewhere between 100 and 120 miles, unless I'm on a long trip, then it might go longer. I can get another 30 or so miles out of it once the light goes on.

Typically I can put 3.3 to 3.5 gallons in when the light comes on. One time when I ran it totally empty, I was able to put 4.8 gallons in, but that was up above the lower edge of that metal thing that is in the filler neck. My bike is rejetted richer with an open airbox and I get right around 35 mpg. The furthest I've gone on one tank is 170 miles.
