I bought my bike with LeoVince cans and I really like the way they sound- especially how they make car alarms chirp when I ride by.

But I can't help thinking about my 1965 Ford Thunderbird that I owned a couple years ago that RUMBLED so loud at idle that windows would rattle. Giving it gas made me feel like I could wake the dead.

So it made me curious, what would be the loudest (bass and decibel) cans I could put on my Duc. From reading the exhasut faq, it seems that Termignoni makes some loud pipes....

The loudest ones I've heard on an M900 were Termingnoni on Tigre.

The D&D cans on my ST2 are louder than the Gia.Ca.Moto (Ducati Performance) carbon cans I had on my Monster. I'm going to switch back to stock on that bike.

Once again, I would say the loudest exhaust is mine with no slip ons at all. To each his own

maybe when we get a big group together i can bring a decibel gauge and test all the different brands scientifically.
That's a really good idea. I would like to record different pipes with a MiniDisc recorder, as well. It would make a really nice feature on this site.

The loudest I have heard are Prince_Ruben 's Two Brothers pipes on his M800. There were like 8 of us riding together, all different pipes and you heard Rubens over everyone elses. And yes, way louder than Termi's in my oponion. I was running a set of fully modded pipes from Strati and I could barely hear mine over the Two Brothers.

So what does that mean? The pipes just end where the cans once were?

I'm actually REALLY curious about this now.

Can anybody provide me with a "how to" on modifying my exhaust system to achieve louder, deeper sound? I've read some posts on this board that address different techniques (removing packing, drilling holes) but for somebody with no experience with this sort of thing, I would need something more detailed. Any ideas?

I think D&D makes some of the most consistently loud pipes. I have a set on my Laverda and they sound sweet!

I really prefer carbon fiber on a Duc.

Yes Lead Teeth, you are exactly right, just straight headers, look at my pic (tag), and you can see the exhaust ends about my ankle.

I'm putting on the sil moto's I have waiting for me at home when I get on Christmas Break next week, sooo does that answer your question?

I too had leo's just like you till I low sided twice and the pipes ben and rubbed the swingarm, couldn't have that so no more pipes, I actually really didn't like it at first, especially the off throttle jake brake noise it made at about 5- 4.5 rpm but it actually started growing on me. It DEFINETELY made me smile every time i got on the gas though. It just sounded raw. If I had a street fighter looking bike, this is definetely how I would go.

By the way how old are you?

Red Duke...

Thanks for representing MOCHA bro!

I own a pair of 2 bros and I think they're the loudest I've heard, even over the D&D's and Termi's. I do have to admit that their annoying at times but I still do like them. I spray painted the yellow badge a charcoal black and they look cool. I'll post a flick tomorrow.
