I grew up out there in Lafayette and my best friend (back in the HS days) used to go to Bear Creek to tach out on his KZ550 (that's right, we're talkin' 1981 ). It always amazed me that there were so few CHP out there. I've seen a few over the years, but never as many as I would expect with it being such a popular place to ride.
I actually have yet to hit it on the monster. I'm definitely due for an east bay ride. ;D
I've only been on Bear Creek Road once and I didn't see why some people get so excited about it. There are driveways and traffic along the whole thing. I consider it too dangerous to ride quickly. There are so many other better roads to choose from nearby. 8)
Alright, then, I'll have to go ride Bear Creek when not on a group ride. One of the first BARF group rides I went on had a rider crash on Bear Creek Road, breaking his arm and severely damaging his bike.
There's a chance I got confused about which was Bear Creek and which was the connecting roads.
