i'm looking for a good pair of leather pants. something with a casual look, but with the protection of something more racebred. are there any pants that fit over the boot but are more than just leather jeans? i've only seen them on the web but any opinions on the Kushitani Real Ride pants?

thanks for the input.

Dainese makes great pants. Do you want them to zip to a specific jacket? Usually you have to have the same brand of pants as jacket for this to work. Zipping together is something I highly recommend for both safety and comfort...

just found a pair of Fieldsheer Relaxed sportrider pants used at newenough.com for $145! score! they zip into my $140 used fieldsheer jacket...

newenough.com and motorcycleleatherexchange.com are pretty rockin' when it comes to selection and prices.

If you want a certain look, you can go to a custom leather shop and tell them what you want. (very costly) I was debating that also, but I got a pair of leather dainese pants used for a cheap price. good luck

thanks for the input.

what dainese pants are you guys wearing? i have a dainese jacket i can zip to, but i didn't really want the pants to tuck into the boots. maybe a pair of safey pants and leather jeans are the way to go?

cheers

If you're in the SF Bay Area, check out Johnson Leather on Polk Street in SF (I think they have another store in Santa Rosa too). They make something similar to a leather jean and they also make a nice leather over-pant, which I have - they have 3/4 zips to easily slip in and out of them and can be worn over jeans, slacks, etc if you want. They can sew in any type of armor, though the forcefield armor they sell is supposed to be extremely good. They can also do bespoke pants any way you want them.

Really top quality stuff - they do all the leather for the SFPD motorcycle patrollers as well as many other police officers around the bay.

On a similar vein (the pants, not the peeing silly!), do any of you guys have any suggestions for a casual looking over-the-boot textile pant? Sometimes the leather is just too damn hot for running around town, but I'd like something more substantial than jeans. What I'm picturing is something that fits like a pair of Ben Davis, but with some protection.

There are a couple of choices - "Draggin' Jeans" and another co. whose name I've forgotten but were showing these jean-type pants at Laguna. I think the idea in both cases is to add kevlar fabric inside normal textile pants. You wouldn't confuse the protection with leather, but they are supposed to be better than regular jeans.

I have a pair of Aerostich Darien Light pants, but they don't really look like something you'd wear to the office. They are easy to wear over regular pants though...
