Ok, I've read through some of the threads on this, but it seems as though the only bikes affected have been the S4 and S4R...I was just wondering, as I have an '02 M750S, are there any riders out there who experienced a leaky battery on their 750...

Can anyone provide the exact model # of the leaky battery? Also, can anyone provide a good, non-leaking battery to replace the OEM one? Thanks!

One of the guys I ride with has the exact same year and model as yours, his battery leaked.

If your bike has a GS or Fiamm brand battery, I recommend first trying to muscle your dealer into replacing it. If they won't do it, or you don't want to mess with them about it, replace it yourself.

I replaced mine with a Yuasa YT12B-BS, lots of other folks did too. Nobody has reported any problems with the Yuasas.

Would there be a problem if I bought mine used off of someone else? I have all the original paperwork from the original owner and the warranty is good until April of 2004...The battery hasn't leaked yet, so I don't know how I can force them to replace it...I was thinking of just killing the battery myself? I believe that mine is the GT...doh...Thanks for the advice...

btw, i just bought a Yuasa YTZ7S for Pongo. it allegedly has more CCAs than YT12B-BS AND is TINY. It's the size of the YTX4 family, only a little taller. WOW! $5 cheaper, too...

Slick,
AFAIK, warranty follows the bike, not the owner.
Possibly some of your fellow noreastern Monster riders can point you toward a sympathetic/responsible dealer.

Warranty may not cover a dead battery....

Chris,
I think Infoage1 has one of those in his S4 Foggy, and has had no problems with cranking. If it'll do the job, lighter is nice.
