I started my 01 M900 yesterday, it ran for a few seconds and died since it was cold and I have not ridden it for a week+. I did not touch the throttle or have the choke on.
Second attempt to start was dead! No sound, no turning, no nothing BUT the lights were on. It was as if I had the side stand down and in gear.
I have a side stand bypass installed.
I tried every combination of gear, stand, lever ..... . . but no go, dead.

Is there a fuse that could cause this or a commonly bad connection??
Any advise would be nice before I start messing with things.

I can't remember if there's a fuse that specifically causes those symptoms without causing others, and I don't have a wiring diagram here, or I'd check...

Laura's bike had the sidestand bypass crap out and it caused those symptoms.

The bypass, kill switch, etc are connected to a relay under the seat that can also go bad. I'm pretty sure that it's the part called 287.4.014.1A Relay on the electrical page in the parts fiche.

Definitely run a jumper across the appropiate terminals on that stupid kickstand relay. Mine crapped out at about 3,000 miles. Especially try it before you take your starter switch apart. Like I did. :(
