Info. on Tank and Seat Fitment

Has anyone had the experience of putting a older tank on a 2000 Monster. I did this and now I am trying to rectify the seat situation because Monster before 2000 had different knee cutouts and now my sargent seat won't fit right but before buying a seat for an older Monster, I just want to make sure that this will all work out peachy. If you have done something like this or know someone who has. Please have them PM me.
