This question came up after reading another post on this topic

Could someone tell me more about the mathesis tune
Do all dealers that work on Ducatis have one?
Is it Ducati specific or what?

Could you use this to richen up the mixture enough to run an open air box, filter and stock cans that were choped 3"

Re: info on mathesis tune

the Mathesis is the Duc electronic diagnostic tool. in terms of "tuning", what the tool can do is adjust injector pulse width (how long the injector is open). this adjustment affects mixture over the whole range. power commanders can be set up to controll fuel at different load/rpm points throughout the range.

many people are happy with the Mathesis tweek. more can be done with the PC.

Re: info on mathesis tune

I have to take my bike in for the 600 mile service pretty soon, and i might as well get it done then. After that, I would like to open the airbox and add a K&N.
Would the bike still runn too lean?

Or

forget the mathesis, put money toward a tfi box or pc

Re: info on mathesis tune

they should include Mathesis with the 600, so try that first. if you're happy there, fine. if not, proceed to the PC or TFI.
