After the discussions about effectiveness of fairings week before last, I picked up an OEM type on Ebay to give it a try. UPS guy brought today ;D
I've always thought that the yellow Monsters like mine look equally good with and without the stock fairings. And after spending a day on a fully faired bike not long ago, I started to really notice the wind buffeting on my bike so figured I had to give it a try.
After removing my aftermarket turn signals which were in the way, I mounted the fairing. It looks sweet!
Visually, I think the fairing strikes a balance with the seat cowl, which I keep mounted all the time.
Since tomorrow looks to be rainy again, that'll give me time to reposition the turn signals and have it ready for a test ride whenever the rain stops on Friday or Saturday.
Even if the wind protection is minimal, I have to say I like the new look. I found myself looking at it in the garage about half a dozen times tonight :
