I was headed out for a ride Sat. night, an immediately noticed little drops of rain on my face shield. I made it througdh about 8 blocks of Hollywood traffic (quite an accomplishment on a Sat. night in H-town!) before I decided to head home.

It wasn't so much the rain that scared me off, but the fact that it was the first rain in a while. I know that the oil from cars tends to gather on the streets and a first rain lifts it to the surface, creating extremely slick surfaces. I felt like an elephant on ice skates.

It rained for two days here! But it has seemed to clear up now. I'm going riding first thing in the morning.

Anybody else get rained out?

I refused to get rained out. Rode in Malibu yesterday, Las Flores was, uh, interesting. On Shueren, visibility was nil (fog and rain - I had to slow down to a 20mph crawl at one point - good thing I did, because I was surprised by an SUV going the other way - entirely in my lane and WITHOUT HEADLIGHTS!!). Mulholland and Encinal were dry for the most part. PCH back was fine.
