I cannot stand it.....

OK I'm at the point where the standard pipes just have to go.
After researching all and sundry I've decided to go DP Termi for better or worse for my S2R1K.
Can anyone out there who has these pipes recommend a supplier (anywhere in the world).
I want the full system and chip so the bike can be tuned.

Thats unless someone is doing PCIII's for my bike so I can get Arrows. Last check Powercommander still have no solution and I want the bike tuned to the new setup.

thanks in advance

Hi Nitrox,
I know the problem :( - I have an new S2R1k and am dying for some sound ;D I thought the only way to go was Temris and a chip but I have gone to Ron at www.flywheels.com.au and he is going to put in a rapid bike from italy. The PC III is just not available yet and they say it will be ready in the new year but I can't stand it either!!!
The great thing about the Rapid Bike is that you can take it from one bike to another - You may need to change the wiring harness but it is totally programmable and portable!!
This means you can have any pipes your heart desires!
I have bought myself the www.desmoworld.com cat eliminator [thumbsup] and some S4R termis - I am just waiting for the various pieces to be delivered.....
If I don't like the Termis I will put them up for sale and get the www.desmoworld.com carbon pipes - I really like the twin pipe look rather than the shotgun look!
Anyway - if you are too far away from Ron you can order the Rapid Bike and install yourself - the only tought bit will be the programming but I am sure any good mechanic with a Dyno could do it for you.
Good luck and have fun,

Hey r_usty,
Aha another sufferer [laugh]
Thanks for pointing me to this Rapid gismo. I'll have to check it out.
Sounds like just the ticket.
Where did you get the Termi cans from if you don't mind me asking?

Please keep me posted on your mods, I'm very interested.
That desmo site is weird! [laugh] good gear though!

cheers

Nitrox,

I went for the Arrows and the Rapid from Flywheels ( hopefully get it fitted next week)

Ducmonrob's friend will give you a good deal on the arrows and Ron will fix you up with the Rapid [thumbsup]

Someone correct me if wrong, but I was under the impression that you only needed to modify the fueling (PC or Rapid) if you had done both the airbox hi flow (like a K&N filter and a chop) as well as the pipes. My bike and many others run fine with a stock ECU and pipes only. Now if you want the extra horses as well as sound, you need to do it all..

I`ve got the full Arrows, std filter and chopped air box and it runs ok! It is a little lean every time you start the bike but the ecu adjusts as you go.

I have been talking to a development person from Dobeck who make Techlusion. He said I can have one of their units before it goes into production. Hopefully next week I will get the go ahead then get Ron to tune the bike.

Just remember, you can get more power out of a PCiii as compared to the DP ecu as it is not adjustable.

I think the Arrows look alot better than the termis.

Hi N, as you can see this is a standard problem - I bought the Termis off Ebay for $500 with the S4R cat eliminator - the Cat eliminator does not for the S2R 1000 which is why I now have the desmoworld one - yep pretty weird site but you can PM Chris from this site and ask him for whatever you want. He is pretty helpful and the prices are pretty good.
Enjoy your new toy - I can't wait to get the extra power and sound that comes with the rapid unit. Ron is a wizz [thumbsup] but he is just too damm busy at the moment :'(
Anyway, plenty of other mods to keep me happy at the moment - but I still can't wait to get my new pipes on.... 8)
hey nitrox, i have a PCIII on my 888 and there is no specific application for one. alex at LAE racing (38656211) fitted it and dyno'ed it and it is set up perfectly, my PCIII is a 998 one. i'm sure alex will know which one will work on your bike, so you can run arrows! [thumbsup]
guys thanks for your feedback here [thumbsup] always a good source of info here.
I've just emailed Alex at LAE and will follow up next week and see what they think.
It'd be nice to have some options here.
But the pipes have just gota go and now.

You can run a Monster 1000IE PCIII but the O2 sensor takes over the mixture and if it goes over its tuning limit it will fault.

I`m just waiting for a unit.

Wow i cant believe this,,,just today i put on some Ducati after market pipes as i said the same as you," THE STANDARD PIPES HAVE TO GO" Mate i cant believ the differance its made to the bike,I have SOUND i have smooth grunt power and i realy dont see the need for a chip or headers at this stage, maybe headers later on.
I own a monters 1000ie 2003 dark it was stock and sounded **** ! i always said my postie had a better sound lol.
You will be soooooooo happy if you go ahead and make the change.cheers and good luck
Hey Nitrox, just fitted my desmoworld cat eliminator and the Termi pipes (off an S4R) with a cut down air box and high flow air cleaner ;D. Wow, it is great to have sound, in fact too much sound . For day to day I think I will leave the baffles in (still loud) and keep the high flow air filter but put the normal lid on the air box. Still sounds so much better then stock and when I am going for a good ride (like today up the Old Road north of Sydney) [thumbsup] I can pull the baffles and put on the cut down air box lid.
I had no trouble with the engine - ran perfectly with the new exhaust and the O2 sensor. I am still getting the Rapid Bike as although it sounds great there is not a great deal of difference in power - That will require some tuning work and a Dyno. The beauty of the Rapid Bike is that you also get a switch on the handlebars to switch between tune settings - eg: Power and Economy or in my case, normal riding with baffles etc and fast, without baffles and open lid.
Good luck with your mods - I may even get a picture soon and try and post it. ;)
Cheers,

Howdi Rusty,
Thanks for the update. Glad you've got the sound all sorted now. [thumbsup] pics please!!!
I spoke to Alex from LAE up here in Briz and he said he could do up a PC for my bike like he did loony888 no problem at all.

Anyway I've decided to get the pipes first , then hopefully by the time (late January) that's done there may be some feedback on the Rapid or even a PCIII for the S2R1K.

I'm hearing you about the noise level of the pipes as the last thing I want is to spend all this dosh for a headache [laugh]

Anyway I've done a backflip and have shortlisted Arrow Carbon, Remus GP50, and Zarn Carbon pipes.
The Remus GP50 has a db killer that is easily removed, the Arrow and Zarn do not (apparently).
I've been reading that the DP Termi header covers the sump plug and oil filter. An inconvenience I can do without, and for the cost of them , thats just not acceptable for me.

Keep me updated please on your mods as will I.

cheers

Hey Nitrox,
I have had the Termi's and Cat eliminator on for a few days now and I am really loving the difference ;D. I said last time that there was not that much extra power - not quite right - the power is better but more importantly it is smoother [thumbsup]. And the bike just revs so much better. [cheeky] Love the sound and love the smoothness.
I have a photo now but it is a bit grainy - wet day and the bike was dirty - those white wheels..... ::)
I am going to have the pipes ceramic coated in Jan - but you really have to do this - and soon.
Enjoy!

Hey R_usty,
Pipes look good, particularly without the cat [thumbsup]
Glad your enjoying the ride.
Yep its decision time for me now mate.
I'm down to Zard Carbon high mounts or Arrow Carbon.
The Zards look real cool and have the advantage of running at 102db or insert db killer for just over 80.
Best of both worlds really. But the Arrows look great as well.
Decisions decsions! ::)
Anyway mate I'm off for a weeks R&R at the beach, so when I return its time to do it.
I'll let you know when I place the order.

cheers

Hi Nitrox, have a good break.
Just for the record, if I had not managed to get such a good deal on the Termis I would have gone the Zard pipes. They look great, get really good reviews (here and elsewhere) and are well priced. Plus I love the two high pipes look! If you want the shotgun look then go the Arrows!
Go for it!
