I think there is really only one way - gauge.

"Guage" - ???

Although everytime I am in a GM rental car, I laugh at they way they spell it "gage."

I never get it right until I see it on the screen...think it has to do with words like guarantee, guard....then you flip the "ua-au" arrangement for gauge...such are the vagaries of written english

Yeah, but it isn't the widely accepted spelling, and is a goofy way for GM to spell it on their "gages."
