My handlebars are askew and i have noticed i have handlebars that are not straight. Im in the process of trying to loosen the top nut in the Triple tree assembly before loosening lower nuts and doing the front suspension plunge to realign forks and ultimately handlebars.

My issue is how do i get this metal split cap out/off so i can access and loosen top nut on yoke assembly, as pictured above / below?

PS* Bike is a 2014 696+ Monster.

That is the nut but you need to pull the upper triple off first.
Hi QLDs4, thank you! Owning Italian cars for years i knew it would be a specialist tool, so for anyone else wanting how to remove this nut, its Ducati part no: 88713.1058
