To follow up on some stuff I posted in the thread on oil pressure sensor thread size -

I put together the 2" guage from an excess pool filter, a 1/4 X1/8 NPT reducer, and the 1/8 NPT X M10/1.0 adapter with a little teflon tape.

Great job Mark! I'm interested in all the details. Do you have any pics? I'm a bit of a 'guage whore' as witnessed by the cluster of guages installed in my Vanagon....

I snapped a couple of shots of it, but have to finish the roll and get it processed. When I do, I'll upload and post them.

By way of comparison, the cheapest commercial guage outfit I found was at J C Whitney for about $20 plus shipping.

Sounds good to me. I've barely got my bike back together and I'm already putting together the winter project check list. Shhes, at this rate, I might as well sign up to be Strati's apprentince. ;D

For those that wanted to see the finished product:

And in use:

Total parts: Used 2" pool filter guage (new about $5.95)
1/4 X 1/8 NPT reducer (about $1.49)
M10 X 1.0 metric adapter (kit with 5 sizes at Autozone about $4.99)

Oil pressure will be off the scale when cold unless you opt for a 0-100 psi guage. After I warmed mine up, I got about 50 psi at idle.
