High mount exhaust question...show me your can mounting!

1918 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  millertime
Yesterday I installed a set of Leo Vince High mount pipes on my 02 750. Love the pipes, sound and look great.

My only problem is the way they mount. The brackets supplied use the factory mounting location.... and i intend to install after-market rear sets.

I need to know what companies use a bracket that goes over the frame to mount the cans.

You could get rear sets that have the exhaust hanger like the cyclecat's, but Remus, DP, Sil, and Spark (just to name a few) have highmounts that attach to the frame.
That's prolly the only thing I don't like about mine also. Shouldn't be hard to flip the mount and fab up a little bracket, I'll probably use something like this to go around the frame.
(larger size of course)

Ive been asked about that too. Mine attach to the stock mounting point on the rearsets as well. Not thinking of changing the rearsets anytime soon though so its not an issue.

You have a different style bike.

I have Leo high mounts as well, mount of the passenger section of stock rearsets.

I know cycle cat, as previously mentioned, sells passenger pegs, which would allow these pipes to mount from that location

I'm trying to avoind all the clutter, that's the reason for the high pipes and new rear sets (yet to come).

Did hear about this....

Looks like it may be the ticket!

^ I like that. Where did you find it? Price?
Check in with spareshack for that goodie. Fast by Ferraci too.

My 620 had a set of Sil high cans and they came with the bracket picuted above. They were purchased from FBF.

*Edit. Rizomas rear sets come with a piece taht one can use if the stock exhaust mounts are needed. It's seperate from the control set, so it can be removed.
