At the bottom of a parts box I received with my '98 M750, I came across an unused handlebar. Still in its original, unopened Ducati packaging, labels indicate a date of 6/2001 and have "recall" printed among an ordering number and other various data.
I have searched this site and others for information of a recall of this nature and could find none.
Does anyone recall this recall? And if so, should it be something of a concern that demands I swap bars? The prior owner has no recollection of the extra part, having had the bike for a short time.
Number Involved: 1,496
Dates of Manufacture: Not yet available.
Defect: It is possible that the handlebar can crack, affecting control of the motorcycle.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the handlebars. Owner notification began May 14, 1999. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ducati at 1-973-839-2600.
