hey guys .... sorry if this is a repeat (i did a search on
fork+reflector+glue and got nothing). one of my
stuck-on fork reflectors was getting nasty, so i pulled it
off. it left what looks like hardened polymer stuck to
the aluminum fork leg. its resistant to alcohol, wd-40,
gasoline, and mineral spirits. i'm gonna try
cyclohexanone and methyl ethyl ketone next unless
someone has a better idea.

gu off or gue be gone something like that works great for removing that crap. A stead hand and a razor blade works well also. Better with the gu off crap along with the razor blade.

My dealer recommends double-sided adhesive tape once you get the old glue / epoxy off.

thanks guys .... and i really did try the search utility first.
nothing returned.

also, some technical details: looks like the 'zip strip' which
works on epoxy is methyl ethyl ketone (good guess on
my part, eh?). jasco paint / epoxy remover is primarily
methylene chloride .... VERY nasty stuff. if you're using
this, be really careful. any of these things should be
applied with plentiful ventilation and rubber gloves.
the FDA requires fume hoods for commercial use for
cyclohexanone, MEK and methylene chloride, so take that
for what its worth.

glad to hear about glue removal but id like to take mine off for appearance sake -97m900-but both are on tight-been gently pulling etc to get a sense of how tight and it would seem about a 2pound sledge and cold chisel would be needed-im not going to do that but how did anyone elses come off
