I'm new to the monster accessories game. Is it just my ducati dealer or is getting stuff ridiculously difficult.? Any help with a reliable dealer would help.

Your kidding..right? [laugh]

Start off on the left side of the webpage here for some sponsers. Some really great folks there.

Your dealer is a good place too. I buy about 40% of my stuff from my dealer. I just tell them an on line price and they give me the same deal. As a bonus they have some stuff in stock so I get it right away.(ie...my CC sliders, CRG mirrors)

You will have a lighter wallet either way you go.

I've been waiting for a carbon fiber rear fender and a windscreen for 3.5 weeks, from two different Ducati dealers. I think that is absurd. I have customized several Harley's, the dealers either have the custom stuff in stock, or it takes less then a week to get it in. Ever been into a Harley dealership vs a Ducati dealership. I guess that's why Harley dealers are so profitable. Harley owners tend to get the light wallet syndrome also. I'm told that the avg. Harley owner spends $3500 after purchase on accessories for there bikes. I'm sure that would be true of Ducati owners also........if I could get the stuff. The parts people at my dealership don't even know what I'm talking about sometimes when I ask for certain accessories.................OK, I'm through venting.

ok...I see your frustration.

Ya...it does take some time to get stuff. Some items more than others.

But its like xmas when the package comes in....! [laugh]

I have a 07 S4rs. I'm looking to replace the stock rear fender/ lic plate holder with a carbon fibre one (back ordered till.....). I'm also looking for a windscreen or front fairing that offer more protection. I ordered (and paid for), a zero gravity sport touring windshield that is back ordered till...........I also want to get the fibre cover that goes on the back sideof the radiator, but my dealer had no idea that this was available. I would also like to get a lower cowl, but it seems crazy to pay for parts then wait a couple of months. I've started to design a make a few parts myself from aluminium..........

Bill, I don't have a fender for you, but I have this DP tail kit. It was on one of my bikes for a couple hundred miles and then removed, so it is new condition. The plate holder and under bracket is black, unlike the pic. I'm going to list it for $200.00, if your interested let me know and I can post some pics on Monday.

We carry a good amount of DP and other accessories. We have both the short carbon tail piece along with the chin fairing on hand...I am out of the radiator shrouds... Let us know if we can help.

Real reason parts on order take so long to show up.
There's No Ducati Parts warehouse in North America. All parts have to swim on there own and then hitchhike to the dealer.

They already tried the warehouse in the US system. Ask any dealer how bad it sucked. The new system gets me everything I need in 3-5 days. I would bet that the DP stuff is slowed up by vendor supply issues not the factory warehouse.
