i use this almost everytime before or after a ride, and works very well. it can be picked up at just about any store for $10 or less. it just LCD/plasma TV screen cleaner. the G&E one comes with the cleaning solution, cleaning cloth, and a dust removing brush.

i clean the exterior and face shield with it, and leaves no scrathes, film, residue, or hazing. i went on a ride and had a lot of bugs on the shield and helmet. so when i got home, i did like a presoak. sprayed the cleaning solution on the affected places and let it set for a little bit. after soaking, the bug guts loosened up and wiped away without damaging the finish.

I just soak a good paper towel in Windex and put it in a ziplock sandwich bag. I throw that and a dry paper towel in my jacket pocket and I'm good to go. My riding buddies always know i have it and ask me for it when they catch a bug to the faceshield.

I'm all about cheap simple solutions.

the only thing i'd be worried about using a paper towels is that it's fibrous. on sensitive face shields, paper towels would make small scratches. like using sandpaper.

Helmet cleaner

I have a front loader washer so it is more gentle on the pads. I put them in a pillow case with a pony tail holder at the end, then I wash them using Ivory Snow on the gentle cycle.
