Here is a little bit about coating Termis. I then switched over to Sparks because I didn't like having to remove the Termi exhaust every time I changed the oil. The ceramic coatings will scratch like paint... so if you adjust or remove the pipes, you will scratch up the ends. The coatings themselves work well and are slow to discolor. If they do discolor, they will probably just get dull looking, which is usually a good look anyway. The cost was pretty cheap. $250 I recall.

The coating won't reduce the heat. The pipes will still get hot, they just disapate the heat more quickly. So your boots will probably still melt against the s pipes if you touch them. I wear a size 10 1/2 shoe, 11 boot and I have not touched them yet. I think it would be easier to polish the stainless to get boot rubber off the exhaust instead of scratching up a ceramic coating.
