I have hi-mount Leo Vinci's on my bike. As you can see in these pictures http://pws.prserv.net/usinet.driver8/M900.htm each can is attached via a bracket bolted to the stock rearsets. I have Big Ideas that involve mounting the cans in the "normal" fashion -- from the subframe. Alas, my poor metal fabrication skills are matched by my design prowess, and I can't get a good mental picture of how the bracket holding the can(s) is attached to the frame.

To the point: I'd like to see a picture or so of the mounting bracket employed by DP, Sil Motor, et. al. to mount Le High Pipes. This is also the perfect opportunity for one of our fine e-tailers to say, "Dude, I'll sell you that stuff for mega-cheap so you don't hurt yourself in the milling machine. Again." You can email 'em to me or post 'em here or whatever, but I have yet to find the level of detail which I seek.

Thank you in advance for your patience and, hopefully, pics.

Try scanning through the pics on the home page. My bike is in there under member photos I think. I have high mount DP Remus pipes on my ride. I dont know if there is a good picture of them, maybe if I get off my lazy butt I will get some better pics up for you to gander at.

been noticing a lot of ppl w/ LV pipes on the board lately. this type of conversion might be useful for ppl that want to go w/ rearsets other than our stock ones.

id be interested in some sort of fabrication/conversion type mounting brackets.

I would be interested in investing in some sort of "hang 'em" high mounts for the LV pipes. Can't change the rear sets with out one.

tim,

I don't have an answer to you question and I'm sorry for that but I would like to know if those cans are ti. or alum.... I have a black bike and think they look great on yours. Do they get to hot for 2up riding? Thanks for your time and I hope you get some were with your mounts.

I have a Sil Motor 2-1 high pipe, the hanger comes off the subframe tube, but I think that the stock bracket will be too high for your current set up. I will try to get some pics and see if it will work for you. I have seen a quick bracket setup that may work for you. Just get a standard pipe clamp with a bubber grommet that fits your subframe tube, and bolt on a piece of aluminum flat stock, (most hardware stores carry it) and cut to length. You can drill holes to make it more interesting and grain it with scotch brite. Good luck and if you have any questions (because sometimes I ramble) just email me.

The belts are pretty well protected, being inside the frame and all. I did make sure that all wires, hoses, etc., were lashed down tight. I also refrain from wearing my mega-flares or super-long fringed jacket when I ride. Heh.
