The asking price may be high, even for an asking price. What is on it? I'm always a little hesitant about bikes that have obviously been stored for multiple seasons. Who was the previous rider? Assuming it's in mint condition and was properly mothballed, I'd open the bidding at $5600 (arrived at that number by taking 1/3 the difference between trade-in and retail and adding it to the trade-in value). If they balk, start going into their storage methods. >:D From my experience, most people selling a fairly new bike that has been stored for multiple seasons didn't do it properly, and that gives you cash leverage.

Don't want to take the thread over but since the topic has already started, wondering if $8k is a decent price to pay for a 06 S2r, approx 1900 miles, tail chop, full arrow exhuast, clutch slave, never dropped. Thx.

Personally I'd say that's high either way, but that would be about right if it's the 1000 since he did put the upgrades on I guess.
