I didn't want to post about an accident until I was back up and riding again. (not sure why)

On the 20th of November ONE BLOCK from my office, I attempted to take a right turn onto a side street. Glenda the MercedesC NO Class Witch thought I was turning left...
BECAUSE SHE HIT MY REAR TIRE WITH HER FRONT BUMPER AND shoved me there!!!!
She passed me on the right as I was in the turn (well sliding out and still turning)

I thought to myself, self:

Why is she on my right?
She's on a cell phone!
OH nuts! I'm going to go under the car!

I didn't.
I couldn't hit her in the face with my helmet as the cop was holding me down.
I did tell her to f**k off though.

The bike ended up with rashed exhaust cover,
rashed can,
rashed right peg,
broken rear brake lever,
broken right CRG mirror,
broken right blinker lense,
rashed and crushed PauliMoto Clutch Cover (but I'll be damned if that half cover didn't save my Kukuri Pressure Plate!)

After a long morning in the ER, I was soar, stiff and had a seriously banged up right knee and shin, no rash or broken anything, and a dash of mild head injury.

PROPS to my husband for working on my bike so fast and furious while I was at work.
Props to the CATscan Rads for proving I have a brain! (I got pictures now!)
Props to my fellow DMLers who sold parts to me.
Props to Ducati Seattle for getting the rear brake lever to me so fast. You SO get all my money from now on.
Glenda the Stupid Witch can go to hell.

Today was the first day back on the road.
MAN, I felt like a crack sleeper with no pipe these last 13 days!!

Honestly I was scared the first 5 miles, my Survival Reflexes were just ringing on everything. By the time I made it to the client's I was better.
After work I road all over Clearwater until the SRs were destroyed.

I got my swagger back! [thumbsup]

Wear your gear!!!!!! ;D

PS. I bought new bling and billet and CF, Rizoma Sliders, and CRG shorty levers during repairs. THAT'LL show Glenda the Stupid Witch!

glad to hear you are okay.

I'm worried that you have developed a serious chronic neck injury that will require huge non-traceable cash payments to a friend of yours who happens to be a neck specialist.

Poor Glenda, she doesn't know what she's gotten herself into.

Thanks guys, I didn't want to yap about this until I was rubberside down again. And I really appreciate your words.

I really did want to knock her block off. She came tripsing over with her hands to her face yelling, "OH MY GOD I'm so sorry! Are you OKAY?"

I replied, "**** YOU!! F-U-C-K Y-O- U!!! Why were you on my RIGHT!?! Why did you HIT ME!?!?! You were behind me for 2 blocks!! WHY!?!?!? **** YOU!!"
I'm trying to undo my helmet, while flipping her off with the other gloved hand while Mr PoPo (who turned out to be a rent a cop from across the street) was pushing me back down.

No tickets issued. Yes, you read that right. The REAL Mr PoPo didn't feel abliged to investigate that much. The "witnesses" in the car behind her, and some doctor in a building a hundred yards away didn't see the rear tire hit, just me in the left turn lane. Claimed I gave the impression of a left hand turn. No one could explain my still blinking RIGHT blinker though.
((I think my yelling and kicking and "non fragile-female" attitude didn't help. LOL [laugh] )

oh well.

My bike is running great. Looks great. I feel 99% (still a bit stiff in the back)

I would love to rock the money pain game and share some with my fellow DML doctors, lawyers, therapists, and um....physical therapists!! But I'd rather we ride and step over the stupids.
Karma's a bitch, and she's hunting Glenda right now.

I'll settle for that thought , a sunny ride, and chatting with you. It's all good.

Did you, ah, happen to get a home address...or, a social security number? I'm just sayin'...pass that info on and, you know, things could get taken care of. 8)

Damn, larakat, that sucks. Hope all works out okay.

I'm glad all is well with you and your machine.

I am having a hard time visualizing the event.

You were making a right onto a side street, a two lane road I assume?

She thought you were turning left??

Did she think you were turning a quick left after you had made the right? Or did she think you were making a left off of the main road and you made the right you had intended to make?

You saw her passing you on the right, was this after she had clipped you?

Were you making a wide right and she made a tight right?

Sorry...I'm just trying to visualize it and...I think I'm missing something.

Once again, glad all is well and I agree with your, leave it go and move on way of thinking. What is best gained from an accident is knowledge...what they did wrong, what I did wrong, what could I do to avoid a similar accident in the future...etc. I totally understand not wanting to post until you were back on the road.

Whew, that was too close for comfort....great to hear that you're OK! Had a near-miss once that was eerily similar - I've learned to always check the right side, even when there's no lane there ;)
