I am planning on repairing and repainting my dented fuel tank in January. I have some options (a flaming tank is last on my list though because of cost). Anyone have comments on this? I'm leaning towards Option #3 right now.

The old font Decal I have is the old-style font (1999 and earlier?) with "Monster" under the "Ducati" logo

I have a 2000 Monster 750 Dark.

Just going with the Mostro minimalist approach...I would opt for the Dark but no writing. Redoing the tank is on my list (granted very far down on the list) of things to do and IMHO the OEM lettering only deters from the beauty of the machine.

I'm not sure when I'll be getting to my tank repaint but I'll be going with the original color, red. As to the tank logo, well, I'm still undecided but leaning towards the original winged D.

I also like the original Ducati font used on the first 750SS. The more modern font that I like is the one used in the mid 90's. Not real fond of the modern one that's on my bike.

So many decisions. :-/

I always wanted to put a white stripe down the middle, the same size as on the Foggy S4, then paint it green on the right side and red on the left. Put on matching front fender and rear cowl and it would look good.

I'm very tempted to actually try out the red, white, and green paint scheme now that I have a bike with lots of surface area to paint. ;)

I dig the older style font.
it's cool that it says 'monster on it too.. ;D

we were thinking ghost flames, or a corse-stripe the same white/gold as the tank writing.
kinda leaning toward the stripe for price reasons.
oh, plus i dont wanna be a fillmore copy-cat with flames.

i figured "other" would be the most popular choice.

I'm biased towards the gloss grey corse flag paint job, so thats why i said other.

$1000 bucks is kinda pricy. The quote i got to go from matte black to the gloss grey corse airbrush job on both my tank, windscreen and front fender was $549.

For a dark tank I had been messing around with some things in photoshop to see what a red/white/green would look like.

I really like the stripes that are on the front fairings of the superbikes, and I think the foggy windscreen. Was thinking about doing something like that on a dark tank. The image below is what I thought looked best. I'm not going to do it though, so if anyone likes it...STEAL IT :-D

My tank is getting painted ASAP and my current idea is to do the stripe down the center. And I'm thinking of going with a gloss black stripe on the flat titanium color from the 748s. I think something cool could come from playing with "dark" and gloss black as well.

I didnt have him do any dents...
dunno if he does that stuff.
norm gets $250 to fix whatever ails yer tank.

I asked about a complete paint job of tank, fender, cowl, fairing...and it was like $500 something.

We had 2 side panels painted (and crack repaired) and it was $125 (if my Guinness soaked brain can be trusted to remember correctly :p)

I will call him today...maybe I can hook up some kinda special DML deal.

RED! The way God intended Italian machines to be.

If you insist on defying God and nature, I'd go with the black/silver flames.
